Steve Jobs Explains Why there is Groove on the Steel Frame of iPhone 4

The reason behind those grooves on the steel frame of iPhone 4 is very simple. The new iPhone 4 is just 9.3 mm thin, A little thinner than the previous version. To shave down the millimeters of the iPhone 4, like ever this time Apples comes up with another innovative approach to turn the already-there stainless steel frame lining of the device into a giant antennas, much like the way iPad was confirmed to be using its LCD frame as the antenna for its WiFi and cellular radios. There are two separate parts of the steel frame. The smaller part on the left side will handle the Bluetooth, GPS and Wifi signals where as on the other hand the larger part on the right side will support the UMTS and GSM signal.
