Good News Folks! Firecore has released the updated Seas0nPass 0.7.2 for Mac OS X to Jailbreak the recently released iOS 4.3 for Apple TV 2G. Like all other Jailbreaks for iOS 4.3, this is also restricted to Tethered Jailbreak.
Seas0npass creates custom “.ipsw” file to Jailbreak Apple TV 2G similar to PwnageTool and Sn0wbreeze.
Follow step by step guide below to Jailbreak Apple TV 2G on iOS 4.3.
Prerequisites:
- A Micro-USB cable
- iTunes 10.2.1
- iOS 4.3 for Apple TV
- Seas0nPass 0.7.2
Step 1: Download and launch Seas0nPass 0.7.2 for Mac OS X
Step 2: Now select the option “Create IPSW” to build your own custom Jailbroken iOS 4.3 firmware for Apple TV 2G.
Step 3: Wait, Seas0nPass will download the files needed to create custom firmware.
Step 4: Put Apple TV 2G into DFU Mode. To do so, connect your Apple TV using a micro-USB cable (leave power disconnected), and hold-down both the ‘MENU’ and ‘PLAY/PAUSE’ buttons for 7 seven seconds.
Step 5: Restoring process will automatically start in iTunes.
Step 6: You would see a confirmation from iTunes when restoring is done. You will now have a Jailbroken Apple TV 2G on iOS 4.3
As this is Tethered Jailbreak process, follow the steps below to boot your Apple TV into “tethered-boot” mode. Make sure to disconnect the Apple TV from the computer.
Step 1: Launch Seas0nPass and select the ‘Boot Tethered’ option.
Step 2: Now Seas0nPass will ask you connect the Apple TV to your computer via micro-USB. Hold on till you see the rapid flashing light on Apple TV and then connect the power. Once both are connected, hold-down both the ‘MENU’ and ‘PLAY/PAUSE’ buttons for 7 seven seconds for it to enter DFU mode.
Step 3: Here we go! Seas0n Pass will now automatically complete the tethered boot. When its finish, remove the micro-USB cable and connect the HDMI cable.
